Citizenship

We do all the paperwork for you to take the exam to take your American Citizenship (also called Naturalization).

Naturalization is a process by which a foreigner who is a legal permanent resident voluntarily applies for American citizenship.

Among the most common ways to Naturalize in the United States (EU) we have that can be acquired are: by relationship; Parents, Adoption, by grandparents; for stay in the United States with a valid residency; normally 5 years with a Legal Residence or 3 years, if you are a legal resident and have been married to a person who is a US citizen.

It can also be purchased in a special way for non-citizens who have served with honor in the military; Army, Sea, Air, Marines and Coast Guard, as well as certain members of the Reserve Corps (Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve) and the National Guard.

There are certain basic requirements that you must meet to apply for it: 

If you are going to take the exam because you have been in the US for 5 years. 

1. You must be 18 years of age or older. 

2. You must be a Legal Permanent Resident and meet ONE of the following requirements (A or B): 

A. You must be a Legal Permanent Resident for five (5) years AND: 

  • Not have left the United States for a period greater than 6 months.
  • Have been physically present for a total of at least 30 months in the United States.

If you are going to take the test because you were married to a US citizen, either born in the US or naturalized. 

B. You must be a Legal Permanent Resident for three (3) years AND: 

  • Your spouse must have been a US citizen for three years.
  • You have lived with your spouse for at least 3 years.
  • Not have left the United States for a period greater than 6 months.
  • Have been physically present for a total of 18 months in the United States 

To become a citizen you will need 

- A copy of your residence (both sides)

- 2 photos (must be identical)

If you are taking Citizenship because you were married to a US Citizen.

  • The previous documents listed for resident persons.
  • Certificates proving that your spouse is a US citizen.
  • Certificate of Naturalization, Citizenship, Passport, Birth Certificate.
  • Marriage certificate.
  • If you were previously married, you need proof that the previous marriage was terminated, Death Certificate.

If the person is serving in the military.

  • You will also need form N-426 (Request for Certification of Military or Navel service).
